Born in Pine Ridge, South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Denton was raised around artists and fine crafts people which inspired him to pursue his expressions and experiences through his artistic talents. His influence from professional Native American Artists has been a constant source of wisdom gathering throughout his professional career.

As an Artist, Denton understands his true artistic nature is not connected to personality, but rather it's derived from source of awareness. Approaching his work in this manners is humbling because the artist knows his work belongs to something greater and his work is an expression of that. Nothing is owned and the choices of what to create and share is very important for Denton, knowing his artwork does not actually belong to him.

His inspiration to create is primarily influenced by the interdependence between contemporary society and traditional culture.
